Thoughts
This page is devoted to the thoughts of the members of our church. These thoughts could include anything that The Lord has laid on their heart: a message to lost souls, a word of wisdom, or even a lesson from the Bible.
This Weeks Thought
Start the Kindling
Have you ever caught the fire in someone's eyes and before you knew it you had the same excitement? Or have you ever had a mediocre opinion on something and heard someone's view that somehow shifted the way you looked at things? Maybe you changed your opinion and took their side. Influence, no matter how powerful or small makes an impact that can have eternal consequences.
Our children are watching and listening. We are an open book. Every detail is recorded to be recalled at a later time in their lives. We are molding and shaping how they look at life and all that pertains to it.
What are our thoughts and opinions concerning God? Adoration or despondency? The Word? Enthusiasm or boredom? What about the church? Thankful or critical? Our "friends"? Cheerful or complaining? What are our responses to strangers? Open or guarded? How do we view life? Bitter or content? Whether we say the words or not, our actions, facial expressions, and body language tell the story.
What does your voice tell them when you say "We're in revival."? What did your face say when your pastor asked you to help out and you told your husband about it? What did you do when you heard Mr. Smith was in the hospital? Do your children hear you pray? Does your life portray a constant struggle? Or have you paved the way for them to find the "peace that passes all understanding"?
Let's make a positive impact on our children. Let's get the passion in our lives for God that will only make them thirty for Him. Let's smile and show enthusiasm about life. After all - God is in control. Sing a song to the Lord and have them join in. God is a consuming fire. Let's start the kindling and fan the flames to a roar. Let's win their soul.
Straight from my heart,
